MARK YOUR CALENDARS for the next edition of 3 Guys People You Should Meet(3G) event on Tuesday, January 11th at the historic Old Stone Church in Cleveland (www.oldstonechurch.org).  The Old Stone Church was born in the upper story of Cleveland's first log courthouse and was established in June of 1819.  The church was formally incorporated in 1827 as The First Presbyterian Society but the name by which it is better known, Old Stone Church, came later. The first church building was dedicated in 1834, but a new building was dedicated in 1855 for the growing congregation.  The church suffered its first devastating fire in 1857, and the restored church was dedicated in 1858.  The second disastrous fire hit Old Stone Church on January 5, 1884, and the current building was dedicated in October 1884, which includes four Tiffany stained glass windows.  The Gallery (where our event will take place) was created out of a need to connect to the community at large through the arts.  The gallery has a strong vision to exhibit local, regional and national artist whose art speaks to the downtown core and its vitality.  The show that will be on exhibition in January is called “The Dominion of Oil,” a provocative visual topic that affects all of us urban and suburban.  The Gallery at Old Stone Church is the church’s latest creative endeavor amongst a strong history of innovation in its 190 year history. I strongly encourage you to visit www.oldstonechurch.org/church_history.htm to read the full history.
